Ring or wrist: another way to go screenless

All notes

A short pointer for “Oura alternative” searches. Form-factor tradeoffs and the HOOP fact table are on the compare hub.

Oura is a ring. NEXTBODY Hoop is a wrist band with no screen. A ring leaves the wrist free. A band can run HOOP’s Body Scan: hold the side key for about 30 seconds for 14 bioimpedance estimates. That is a different tradeoff, not a claim that a ring is worse.

The product site includes one same-person, same-night wear with an Oura Ring. Total sleep agreed to 99.5% (awake time excluded). The notes call this a single result, not a clinical finding. HOOP’s seven-factor sleep score draws on Oura’s published sleep factors but is not Oura’s algorithm.

Do not use Body Scan with a pacemaker or other implanted electronic medical device. HOOP is not a medical device. The published hardware price is $59.99 on the pricing page.

If the search was really “WHOOP alternative no subscription”, or you want the strap-off weight chart next to sleep and MCP limits, use the hub. This note stays short on purpose.

Oura, Oura Ring and other marks belong to their owners. Mention is descriptive only. Open the screenless-band compare hub.
